Job Description


ABOUT THE JOB

As a Recruiter at Galileo Learning, you will support recruiting efforts across all departments, with a focus on HQ and Camp Director hiring. You will flexibly support summer staffing recruitment and selection during the summer hiring season. As a full-cycle recruiter, you will focus on exceptional candidate care and hospitality at all stages, drive diverse pipelines, recruit top-quality candidates, and support their journey through our process. You will partner with hiring managers to align on role requirements, guide sourcing efforts, create competency-based interview guides, and more.


YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Partnering with hiring managers to understand role requirements and desired candidate profiles.
  • Building and maintaining a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings.
  • Conducting initial screenings to evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Coordinating and scheduling interviews with hiring managers and other stakeholders.
  • Conducting reference checks and facilitating the job offer process.
  • Guiding each candidate through the full recruitment journey from application to a signed offer, and facilitating a smooth transition to onboarding.
  • Continuously refining and improving the recruitment process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Candidate Care and Hospitality

  • Ensuring exceptional candidate care and hospitality throughout all stages of the recruitment process.
  • Maintaining timely and professional communication with candidates, providing updates and feedback at every stage.
  • Fostering a positive candidate experience, ensuring all candidates feel included, valued, and respected.

Diverse Pipeline Development

  • Developing and executing innovative sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates, including engaging with diversity-focused job boards, networks, and events to promote Galileo Learning opportunities.
  • Guiding sourcing efforts across various channels (job boards, social media, networking, etc.) to identify potential candidates and contributing to employer branding initiatives to attract top talent.

Interview Process Management

  • Partnering with hiring managers to design and implement competency-based interview guides in line with Galileo’s competency-based interview architecture
  • Coaching and supporting hiring teams on effective interview techniques and best practices.
  • Providing regular updates and reports to hiring managers and leadership on recruitment progress and outcomes.
  • Leveraging data to inform and improve recruitment strategies and processes.

COMPENSATION

We anticipate compensation for this Full-Time, exempt position to be $55,000 - $67,000. Exact compensation may vary and will be based on multiple factors, including geography and professional experience.

WORK LOCATION

Remote, work-from-home, location is possible in the following states: California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas, North Carolina, New York, or Washington. We are currently only able to employ candidates who are based in the states listed here.

Employees located in the San Francisco Bay area adhere to a hybrid office and work-from-home policy. Galileo Headquarters is located at 111 Myrtle St, Ste 300, Oakland, CA 94607.


SCHEDULE & TIME COMMITMENT

This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week. While we prioritize work-life balance, there may be times when additional hours are necessary to meet deadlines and ensure the success of our programs. Additionally, HQ staff are expected to visit camp locations from June through August to experience camp first-hand and support our teams on the ground; 10-15% travel may be required for those located outside of a camp territory.

  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Constantly operate a computer (including typing, reading)
  • Frequently remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Constantly communicate in-person, virtually, and from a range of distances


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in full-cycle recruitment, preferably in Education, Summer Camps, Youth Programing, or similar environments
  • Galileo Alumni with 4+ years of experience in the Camp Director role, who have some experience with recruiting or hiring, are encouraged to apply. We recognize the value of this experience as equivalent and relevant for this role.
  • Experience recruiting for both seasonal and year round positions is a plus!
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong candidate pipelines.
  • Experience with competency-based interview techniques and ATS platforms (e.g., SmartRecruiters).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Openness and enthusiasm for soliciting and implementing feedback to improve performance.

Additional Information
