POSITION PURPOSE


The Recruitment Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding the reach of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami by actively recruiting volunteers (Bigs) and youth participants (Littles) to join our mentoring programs. Reporting to the Vice President, Programs, this position will focus on building relationships within the community, corporations, schools and increasing awareness of our mission, and ensuring a steady pipeline of participants to support our program goals. 


Key Responsibilities: 

Community Outreach: 

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with community organizations, schools, businesses, and other stakeholders to promote BBBS Miami’s programs.
  • Represent BBBS Miami at community events, fairs, and other outreach opportunities to recruit potential Bigs and Littles.
  • Develop and manage a Recruitment Ambassador Program targeting colleges, grassroots organizations, faith-based groups, and similar organizations to serve as boots-on-the-ground recruiters for all BBBS Miami programs.
  • Cultivate relationships with local influencers, leaders, and organizations to establish long-term partnerships that support recruitment efforts.

 

Volunteer and Participant Recruitment: 

  • Proactively identify and reach out to potential volunteers and youth participants.
  • Manage recruitment campaigns, including partnering with Sr Marketing Manager to direct digital marketing efforts, social media outreach, and targeted community engagement.
  • Respond to new volunteer inquiries within 24 business hours.
  • Organize and lead informational sessions, webinars, and workshops to educate the community about the benefits of becoming a Big or a Little.

 

Relationship Building and Networking: 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, including schools, faith-based organizations, and civic groups, to support ongoing recruitment efforts.
  • Collaborate with the BBBS Miami marketing and communications team to ensure consistent messaging and branding in all recruitment materials.

 

 

Data Tracking and Reporting: 

  • Track recruitment efforts and outcomes, maintaining accurate records of outreach activities, inquiries, and follow-ups using Salesforce.
  • Provide regular reports on recruitment metrics, including the number of new Bigs and Littles enrolled, and adjust strategies as needed to meet recruitment goals.
  • Develop recruitment projections and establish recruitment goals.

 

Volunteer Onboarding Support: 

  • Work closely with the program team to ensure a smooth transition from recruitment to onboarding for new volunteers and participants.
  • Assist with initial screenings, interviews, and orientations as needed to support the onboarding process.
  • Assist with Volunteer, Child, Parent, and Staff training if needed.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in community outreach, volunteer recruitment, or a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Passion for the mission of BBBS and a deep commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of young people.
  • Experience with CRM systems or volunteer management software preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Miami-Dade and Monroe County communities.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Working Conditions: 

  • This position will require evening and weekend work to attend community events and meetings.
  • Some travel within Miami-Dade and Monroe County is expected.
  • 50% travel for work

Background Clearance


BBBS of Miami, mandatory complete FDLE background clearance on all employee's pre-employment and tri-annually thereafter.
