Job Summary

This Sales and Account Management position will be responsible for the development of new business opportunities, including nurturing existing business customers, co-selling with distributor / channel partner sales professionals (both inside and field), training distributors and channel partners on the features benefits of our products, coordinating introduction of our product to existing accounts and adjacent end users. He/she will also participate in new business development opportunities such as exhibiting at trade shows, talking to industry influencers.

Essential Functions

  • Understanding of computer software applications
  • Basic knowledge of computers

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Services existing customer and distributor accounts by maintaining and developing relationships and working in co-selling opportunities.
  • Establishes new accounts by planning and establishing relationships.
  • Conduct sales and product presentations for new and existing customers, and new and existing end users for and with our distributors and customers.
  • Provide activity and results reports to management, such as daily call reports, week plans and results analysis.
  • Monitors existing sales opportunities and relays information necessary to close business.
  • Resolves customer complaints and works to grow relationships in a timely manner.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education:

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree required with relevant (operations, business) field of study preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
  • Professional appearance and image.
  • Works well and enjoys a team environment
  • Must be able to travel as required (20%to 30% travel is anticipated over the long term).
  • Must be able to recognize, develop and close on sales leads.
  • Knowledge of Industrial PPE and products, markets, distributors, and end users.

Experience:

  • Five or more years’ experience in sales or major account representation, preferably in an industrial B to B environment with specific experience in sales development.

The duties of this position can either be performed locally at the Heartland business offices at 701 W. Chippewa Ave. South Bend, IN 46614; with travel expected to customers, distributors, and end users, or remotely in a market important to Heartland including: Houston; Dallas / Ft. Worth; The Bay area CA; Indianapolis; Atlanta; and KC Omaha. During periods of travel, duties could be performed in conference centers, restaurants, places of public accommodation, modes of travel, etc.

Internal: This position interfaces routinely with Heartland salaried employees. This position interfaces routinely with visitors, customers, and others.

Safety Requirements

  • Expected to assist in the implementation of safety and policy statements as needed
  • Comply with all department and facility safety regulations.

  • Report all safety, health, and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
