Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging ASL interpretation for various online performing arts classes.
Provide interpretation for virtual performances, rehearsals, and artistic showcases.
Collaborate with performing arts educators to grasp artistic concepts and specialized terminology.
Adjust interpreting techniques to convey the emotion, rhythm, and subtleties of artistic performances.
Uphold confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards.
Engage in professional development focused on arts and interpreting methodologies.
Required Skills
Exceptional proficiency in both ASL and English, with a robust vocabulary related to the arts.
Creativity and adaptability in interpreting artistic concepts.
Ability to express artistic nuances such as rhythm and tone through ASL.
Comprehensive understanding of Deaf culture and arts education.
Comfort and experience with digital platforms for remote interpretation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in ASL Interpretation, preferably with a background in performing arts.
Active RID certification.
EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
At least 3 years of interpreting experience within performing arts or creative environments.
