Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute pain management, medical terminology, and IV infusion. As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the necessary approvals for medical treatments and services.

Duties

• Review and process prior authorization requests for medical procedures, medications, and services
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for requested treatments
• Communicate with healthcare providers to gather necessary information for authorization requests
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and company policies
• Maintain accurate documentation of authorization requests and approvals
• Collaborate with clinical staff to expedite the authorization process
  
  

Requirements

• Experience in acute care or pediatrics preferred
• Proficiency in patient assessment and clinical pharmacy practices
• Knowledge of managed care principles and anatomy
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in patient service roles is a plus
