Summary:
The Clinical Informatics Business Analyst partners with business and IT team members on initiatives and issues. The incumbent works in a cross-functional environment and participates in the design, implementation, and modification of custom or packaged applications and reporting tools. Using various project management frameworks, the Analyst participates in initiatives to streamline processes to improve quality and effectiveness. The Analyst leverages IT-related best practices to deliver business solutions. Gathers and translates business and/or technical needs into relevant documentation for assigned projects. Establishes consensus among stakeholders and/or project team members in relation to assigned deliverables. Provides leadership and a collaborative approach to integrating the stakeholder needs with the project activities and facilitates communication across the project and IT team involved in solution development-related activities. Performs job functions in an independent manner. Helps establish standard processes and documentation standards for all projects. Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously. The incumbent must be resilient and flexible in response to a rapidly growing organization with changing business needs.

- They’re implementing a new EHR called PointClickCare to move from paper records to digital.
- This will require a lot of different stakeholder interactions and different environments because the facilities are all different.
- This person will be coordinating with the communities to deploy equipment, coordinating with internal IT to make sure equipment has been ordered, coordinating network drops, working with clinicians, all different stakeholders at different levels.
- They also need to be on top of making sure the project is running smoothly.
- Waterfall environment. They use Smartsheet, Lucid for process flow, servicenow for ticketing.
- Background as a nurse, LPN or in clinical or health informatics or anything like that is a huge plus.

Responsibilities
- Provide input for a forward-thinking vision to collaboratively design cross-functional processes and solutions to business challenges.
- Evaluate and present flexible, scalable, and supportable options to stakeholders and help them vet alternatives that support project and business objectives.
- Participate in identifying ways by which IT can add value to business teams to improve processes.
- Collaborate with IT and business partners in order to drive change.
- Builds strong relationships with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and other IT team members/partners
- Demonstrate how new technologies, best practices, and trends can be incorporated into business and IT processes leveraging a strong understanding of end-to-end processes.
- Participate in estimating and planning activities; communicate and execute essential duties of projects.
- Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with business partners, project teams, and other stakeholders.
- Create clear and concise documentation throughout all project phases and activities.
- With direction, conduct the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of complex requirements and business needs, support the resolution of conflicting requirements, and trace requirements through to the solution.
- Participate in the design of solutions.
- Execute configuration, reporting, and other technical activities.
- Partner with the business teams to perform system testing and write and execute testing plans.
- Provide technical support, diagnosis of application errors, and troubleshooting with system issues
- Assist with the configuration and setup of new users within the clinical systems.
- Practice structured problem-solving to identify and clarify issues and develop, implement, and evaluate informatics solutions.
- Implement applications, tools, and processes that assist clinicians with the management of data in patient care and the provision of health care.
- Applies ethical, legal, and privacy regulations and policies for the collection, maintenance, use, and dissemination of data and information.
- Uses workflow analyses to examine current practice, workflow, and the potential impact of an informatics solution on that workflow
- Promotes data integrity and the access and exchange of health data for all consumers of health information
- Participates in ongoing education to advance knowledge base and professional practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Able to work with functional groups, including virtual teams, and different levels of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills: the ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed-upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to translate technical material for a non-technical audience and simplify complex concepts for inclusion in documentation processes.
- Able to build and maintain solid relationships with business partners.

- Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of related experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in business analysis, application design, implementation, and support or as a super user preferred.
- Understanding of relational databases and query tools preferred
- Certification of competency in Business Analysis and informatics certification preferred.
- Experience in clinical and/or healthcare information systems, electronic medical records, and senior living industry operations (preferred)
