Global Real Estate and Workplace Experience (GREW

E)Global Real Estate and Workplace Experience (GREWE) is the global team at American Express (Amex) responsible for the full lifecycle of planning, execution, and operations of Amex real estate. GREWE supports over 65,000 Amex colleagues and contractors in over eight million square feet of property located in 41 countries. Our real estate portfolio consists of large full-service campuses, office buildings, sales offices, and airport lounges. The sites may be owned, leased, or be occupied through a serviced space arrangement. e.Reporting to the Director of GREWE ESG & Workplace Sustainability, the Renewable Energy Manager will be responsible for supporting company-wide program management for Amex’s renewable energy portfolio strategy, including assessing business requirements, generation and evaluation of strategic proposals, development of business cases for selected strategies, and reporting out on actual renewable energy and offsets against goals. In this role you will partner with key stakeholders including teams within GREWE, sustainability, finance, technology, legal, risk, and Amex senior leadership. As the Renewable Energy Manager, you will be a integral member of the ESG team that formulates, refines, and executes Amex’s ESG strategy, builds the associated ESG infrastructure and solutions, and provides recommendations to leadership to improve ESG initiatives. You will work cross-functionally to define, execute, and continuously improve Amex’s ESG programs and support key data collection, analytics, and reporting activities. In addition, you will advise the team and other stakeholders on the current renewable energy market, manage strategies to reduce Amex’s carbon footprint, improve economic outcomes, help to manage tax and other financial consequences, and optimize GHG reductions across Amex’s global real estate portfolio. The role requires (i), a strong energy background and proven track record of developing and delivering on renewable energy projects, (ii) advanced data analysis skills with tools such as Excel, and (iii) a strong ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and verbal form to stakeholders across the Amex organizatio
