APG Media of Southern Wisconsin is looking to fill a reporter position in Marinette, WI.

We’re looking for a person who wants to grow their skills, help and collaborate with others and be part of a community-focused team. Our journalist needs to be ready to adapt to a modern, subscriber-based journalism model that recognizes digital consumption of news is our future.

This position will involve reporting, editing and some photography. The journalists best suited to these roles will be creative self-starters with a natural curiosity about the people in our communities. We need people who want to build relationships with sources, peers and mentors and will always look for ways to engage readers and get beyond the surface of stories.

In southern Wisconsin, Adams Publishing Group produces 15 news publications in a variety of formats – daily, weekly and semiweekly – but what they all have in common are readers who want useful, local content. We need stories about our neighbors, our businesses, our governments and local trends.

Qualifications include a degree in journalism or professional reporting experience. Skills desired include photography, social media, an understanding of open records laws and the ability to get sources to speak freely, whether that’s a government official or a reluctant feature story subject. Most important is a can-do attitude and a desire to expand your skillset.
