The Integrated Strategies group is composed of several expert teams dedicated to fostering cross-program collaboration, driving operational excellence, and equipping Tulsa for You programs with the tools, insights, and best practices to drive tangible results. The Integrated Strategies group includes teams focused on Technology, Research & Analytics, Marketing, and Operations. Primary Purpose And Functions

The Research, Analytics, and Data (RAD) team within our integrated strategies group is currently seeking an analyst with experience and/or interest in the future of work, economic development, and talent development to serve as a Research Analyst. The Research Analyst will be a self-starter, critical-thinker and enjoys taking complicated problems and distilling them into simple frameworks. The Research Analyst works across multiple teams to analyze complex data sets, identify trends and opportunities for growth, visualizes data, and disseminates insights to leadership and peers to foster a data-driven culture. This role reports to the head of the RAD team, and the ideal candidate will excel in a highly dynamic behind-the-scenes environment.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Create and share research and data insights to inform strategies that drive innovation, growth, and job creation.
  • Work with research team to generate collateral for external use such as white papers, reports, and presentations
  • Research global, national, regional, and local labor market and industrial environments, pinpointing the areas of opportunity for Tulsa
  • Pull and analyze data from public sources such as the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Lightcast and others to create benchmarks and indicators to monitor and understand Tulsa’s growth and development.
  • Work closely with internal RAD members to understand and maintain focus on the organizations analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and to deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders and assess what drives organizational performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity
  • Create interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis by integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources
  • Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across data sets
  • Create and maintain appropriate data structures that enable efficient and effective reporting and insight generation
  • Any other duties as assigned

Knowledge Experience And Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field, such as mathematics, urban studies, political science, economics, statistics or in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Strong database management skills with experience in Excel or similar tools
  • Practical experience in statistical analysis, using tools such as, STATA, R, SPSS, and SAS
  • Prior experience with database management, data analysis and modeling
  • Some familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI

Skills & Abilities

  • Proven analytical skills, including data mining, evaluation, and analysis
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Technical writing via reports and presentations to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple deadlines effectively
  • Willing to continuously acquire new skills and knowledge and share with partners and colleagues
  • Familiarity with the Tulsa area.
  • Must be able to travel to attend in-person meetings and work collaboratively with other team members.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs., for lifting supplies and materials, as needed
  • Position continually requires the ability to talk and hear both in person and over the phone, visual acuity; ability to operate equipment, read, and use a keyboard
  • Position frequently requires the ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Position requires the ability to travel occasionally but not regularly

Hours & Location:

  • This is not a fully remote position as we work in a hybrid office environment.
  • You must live in or be able to relocate to Tulsa, Ok or the surrounding area.
  • There is flexibility to manage your own schedule, and your onsite hours.
  • Office space will be available for work and you will consider our values of inclusion, service, accountability, and transparency to decide the best physical location to work each day.
  • Employees working remotely must possess good time-management and organizational skills, and be self-motivated, self-reliant, and disciplined.
  • This is a full-time position with an expectation of working 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to occasionally work hours outside of 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. for events
