YOUR CHALLENGE

You are an integral part of delivering the right mix to our customers. As a Research & Development Chemist, your responsibilities will be in the development of new formulations driven by customer and market performance criteria, while also modifying existing products to improve competitiveness, regulatory changes, and performance needs. You will:

• Design and/or adjust formulas for projects that are generated by the sales department
• Provide technical support for the sales staff, Quality Control, and Production Operators
• Collaborate in a team environment, addressing technical challenges and optimizing formulations
• Color matching for customers and sales department. Create formulas based on that color match
• Research and develop new products that fit trends in the market
• Understand regulatory requirements on VOC, HAPs, and safety, to support formulation, SDS, and TDS creation for products
• This employee will train directly with and report to the R&D Manager who enjoys 30 years of experience in the paint and coatings industry
  
  

Your Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a science field (chemistry, biology, engineering, etc.) preferred but not required
• Strong computer and math skills, problem solving abilities and attention to detail
• Familiarity with paints, coatings, and the manufacturing process is advantageous
• Above all else, a curious mind who is willing to embrace challenges on a daily basis
