THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Research and Scientific Content Manager. In this role, you’ll have a wide reaching impact by driving a diverse set of research projects with the aim to continuously develop and validate functional benefits behind our products to ensure that OLIPOP has the intended positive impact on health. Additionally, this role will manage the creation and maintenance of tools and content that highlights and communicates the health and wellness benefits of OLIPOP for the education of internal and external stakeholders.

This role will be closely involved in the execution of many parallel work streams being part of a small, fast paced, and dynamic science and medical affairs team. The ideal candidate has a strong passion for the science behind the gut microbiome, digestive health, and metabolic health, and products that meet consumers where they are within deeply rooted nutritional habits and lifestyles.

Responsibilities

  • Drive execution of scientific research projects spanning preclinical to clinical trials from conception through to completion
  • Effectively manage external research partners (universities, contract research organizations, other labs, etc)
  • Support in creating relevant scientific, health or technical content supporting OLIPOP’s core health values
  • Support technical writing projects such as whitepapers or scientific manuscripts
  • Support retailer registered dietitian & wellness initiatives as needed supporting in-store education, retail health partnerships or conferences and OLIPOP’s scientific leadership position in functional soda
  • Embody collaborative, curiosity-oriented, accountability-focused, detail-oriented, and highest impact prioritization mindset guiding decision-making processes
  • Willing to “think outside the box” and take calculated risks

Qualifications

  • Deeply passionate about OLIPOP, and inspired by what we represent. Has the desire and hunger to make an impact
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a discipline related human health (e.g., biomedical science, physiology, nutrition)
  • Experience (minimum 3+ years, ideally 5+) in industry at either a consumer packaged good brand (functional food and beverage, or dietary supplements), or B2B nutritional ingredient brand
  • Relevant training and experience developing and conducting research related to one or more of these areas: human gut microbiome, metabolic health, gastrointestinal health, endocrine system, immune system, cardiovascular system (in order of preference)
  • Experience (minimum 3+ years, ideally 5+) in designing and managing clinical trials performed at universities or contract research organizations (preferably the latter)
  • Understands the ideal mix of scientific rigor and commercial relevance regarding clinical and preclinical research
  • Working knowledge of statistical analyses appropriate for clinical trials. Can work with external statistician expert(s) on appropriate statistical analyses plans
  • Familiarity with ICH (E6) Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines, the Declaration of Helsinki (2013), and US 21 CFR as it pertains to clinical trials
  • Familiarity with clinicaltrials.gov and trial registration and update process
  • Preferably expertise in designing and managing preclinical trials performed at performed at universities or contract research organizations
  • Experience writing or overseeing manuscripts for publication in academic journals
  • Industry experience managing and coordinating a variety of projects related to nutrition, gut microbiome, digestive health and/or metabolic health
  • Experience with creating technical content at either a consumer packaged good brand (functional food and beverage, or dietary supplements), or B2B nutritional ingredient brand with a focus on health and wellness
  • Experience with creating technical content for a diverse group of stakeholders (internal sales team, retailer buyers, retailer health and wellness teams, dietitians, health care practitioners, hospital systems, consumers at all levels, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to organize workstreams, timelines, priorities, and milestones. You are systems-thinking yet exceptional at prioritizing for organizational impact and timelines
  • Has an abundance of curiosity and a keen understanding of the “why.”

  • Comfortable leading or being led and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, has great attention to execution, and the ability to effectively prioritize at both the project and task level
  • This position is remote and requires approximately 25% travel

Compensation

$115,000-$120,000 base salary + bonus
