About Our Client

Our Client is a Maryland-based real estate investment company. They are focused on acquiring Industrial Outdoor Storage (IOS) assets that have mission critical outdoor storage components. The properties they acquire are an essential part of the economic fabric for major metropolitan markets.

About the Position

They’re currently seeking a Research Associate to work alongside their acquisitions and asset management teams and provide support for prospecting, underwriting, and leasing activities. This role is the perfect opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and wants to work for an innovative company that is well-positioned for growth. This is a full-time position that will work out of their Bethesda, Maryland office.

What you’ll do in this role

• Become an expert in the growing Industrial Outdoor Storage asset class
• Determine by-right IOS zoning types within target markets by analyzing regulations and use tables
• Collect, organize, and maintain the integrity of critical data points in their internal deal platform
• Collaborate with their acquisitions team on tracking key details of select sales and lease rates at IOS sites across the country
• Track tenants who are in the market for expansion space in their target markets
• Provide internal support for underwriting deals in their pipeline, and the leasing activities of properties in their portfolio
• Provide the management team with pipeline metrics to guide strategic direction
• Support the asset management team with key data points for quarterly and annual reports
• Track market activity through various industry publications, reports, and press releases

What we’re looking for you to have

• BS/BA degree in a related field
• Experience looking up details of properties and true ownership
• Fundamental understanding of land use and zoning regulations
• Experience using research database such as Costar/Loopnet
• Experience using GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS is a plus
• Self-motivation along with excellent time management skills
