RESEARCH ENGINEER

Seeking an experienced Research Engineer for an aerospace engineering team specializing in advanced propulsion systems and aerodynamics. The Research Engineer will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research to develop innovative solutions and improve existing technologies. You will work closely with the R&D team to design experiments, analyze data, and implement new methodologies. This role requires a strong background in engineering principles, analytical skills, and the ability to work on complex projects.

Hourly Commitment: 10 to 15 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to develop new technologies and improve existing propulsion systems and aerodynamic designs.
  • Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and validate models.
  • Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and computational tools.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of research processes, findings, and conclusions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research outcomes into product development.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in aerospace engineering and related fields.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate research findings to stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of research proposals and grant applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of propulsion systems, aerodynamics, and related engineering principles.
  • Experience with experimental design and data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to aerospace engineering.
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and materials.
  • Certification in project management or related areas.
