Research Scientist (Assay Development)

The Opportunity

This individual will play a critical role in advancing our pipeline of recombinant protein and assay kits for drug discovery and commercial applications. The position requires a PhD or equivalent research experience in a relevant field and extensive experience in assay development, with a strong emphasis on creativity, technical expertise, product development, and collaborative research.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and validate novel assay kit products to support drug discovery and development projects.
  • Conduct high-throughput screening (HTS) of small molecule compound libraries and other assay formats to evaluate the biological activity of compounds and recombinant proteins.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics, to integrate assay development efforts with broader research goals.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot existing assays to improve sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets, providing clear and concise reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in assay technologies and methodologies, incorporating best practices into ongoing projects.
  • Mentor and supervise junior scientists and research associates, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment.
  • Prepare and present research findings at internal meetings, scientific conferences, and in peer-reviewed publications.


Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent research experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in assay development, with a strong track record of success in designing and validating innovative assay products.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of assay technologies, including TR-FRET, ELISA, luminescence/fluorescence-based assays, cell-based assays, and biochemical assays.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with automation and high-throughput screening platforms is highly desirable.
