Summary
The Resident Assistant (RA) role is a vital and dynamic position within AiG housing. The RA supports the Resident Life Manager (RLM) by being responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of their assigned portion of housing. The position requires the RA to live in their assigned building throughout the term of their appointment. The RA’s primary responsibilities are to ensure their assigned building and residents are safe; that the building is functioning well; and that their residents are active and engaging with others in the AiG community. The RA must communicate with the RLM about needs and concerns regarding their assigned building. This includes but is not limited to maintenance or housekeeping needs; moderate to conflicts between residents; create and execute events and programs; lead consistent Bible study; and keeping organized records.
This position will allow one to significantly impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion. Responsibilities
- Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis
- Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
- Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset.
- Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
- Attend meetings and communicate regularly with RLM.
- Participate in personal and team development sessions led or overseen by the RLM.
- Attend and complete on-going training as assigned by the RLM.
- As directed by the RLM, implement, participate in, and lead social events and spiritual or personal development opportunities for residents.
- Act as the primary point of contact for residents. This is an on-call role. It is expected that the RA will be the first face of action.
- Manage emergency and interpersonal situations in a Christ-focused way which adheres to the housing ministry expectations.
- Support the Resident Life Manager with administrative tasks, maintenance concerns, and enforcing the housing covenant.
- Implement Bible studies and programming for spiritual and social development of residents.
- And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

- Computer Skills
- Interpersonal Skills: empathetic, passionate about people, adaptable.
- Speaking Skills: help communicate safety procedures, cleaning schedule, and rules and expectations for residents.
- Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
- Previous experience in residence life is preferred.
