Lutron has an opening for a Sales Area Leader on our Luxury Residential sales team in the North Central Region. A successful team member will drive the sales of Lutron’s luxury residential solutions in a B2B environment by creating demand with residential architects, interior designers, custom builders, and developers and nurturing those opportunities with our dealer channel partners. We positively influence decision makers in the luxury residential construction business to view Lutron as their first and full choice for intelligent lighting and control solutions.

Responsibilities
- Achieve residential sales targets for the assigned area while managing selling expenses/sales budgets to enhance profitability.
- Lead the factory direct sales team for Chicago’s residential sales market: sales strategy and planning, executing sales initiatives and overseeing the vision for future opportunities in the Chicagoland area.
- Lead a team of 6 Manufacturer Rep Agencies (15 States) by having top to top relationships with principals, setting sales plans and strategies for their teams, and ensuring they execute the defined residential initiatives. This could involve customizing strategies for the area, while also facilitating sharing of effective practices across rep agencies to create strong business outcomes.
- Ensure assigned rep agencies have residentially focused sales team that is trained properly and work with principals, with regional leader involvement, to discuss people investments to drive and execute our residential tactical plans.
- Develop, maintain and model strong top to top relationships with leaders among key specifiers, channel customers to leverage Lutron's long-term position in the market and form connections to expand the business.
- Identify and develop new Specification accounts and earn a high percentage of assigned specification account’s mindshare to position Lutron as basis of design.
- Work with the business unit independently to facilitate pilot programs, gather and provide usable market feedback, and work alongside them to develop new ways to enhance Lutron’s brand and stature in the marketplace that impact beyond one's sales area.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 7 years of sales experience required (Project Sales, Consultative Solution Sales, or Luxury Product Sales) that includes minimum 5 years of experience managing people/teams
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time, sometimes with little or no notice
- Experience in Salesforce a plus
- Home Office Based (Chicago, IL area)
