Retail Marketing Manager

What’s the job?

Reporting to the Director of Integrated Marketing, the Retail Marketing Manager is responsible for working collaboratively across the organization to develop and implement national accounts retail segment focused brand marketing plans and an overall customer activation platform that achieves top-line and bottom-line growth objectives along with market share, brand awareness and target segment penetration for the CertainTeed and Saint-Gobain brands.


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join the team in a role that requires a strong understanding of retail marketing and the ability to navigate organizational complexity and drive consensus around shared plans. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the retail marketing strategy, managing end-to-end customer journeys, and activating omni-channel marketing initiatives that support our retail partners. They will work in close partnership with the centralized retail marketing and channels team and individual business units – with the goal of driving marketing plans that build brand growth across all national retail customers and achieve product marketing goals.


The Retail Marketing Manager will be a key liaison to ensure strength in integrated marketing activation, business alignment, strong activation, and effective measurement and reporting of marketing support for the retail channel.


What will you do?

Drive Retail Marketing Strategy:

  • Responsible for driving marketing strategy to grow the CertainTeed/Saint-Gobain brands in retail, working in close partnership across the organization to drive alignment and shared goals, plans, and reporting.


End-to-End Customer Journey Strategy & Activation:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive customer journey strategies that span online and offline channels, including online advertising, retail.com, in-store experiences, and attribution models.
  • Ensure seamless integration and activation of all touchpoints, driving customers from initial engagement to purchase.


Seasonal Marketing Planning & Activation:

  • Lead the planning and execution of seasonal retail marketing campaigns across all relevant omni-channel platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment with retail partners.


Retail Media Network Strategy & Reporting:

  • Develop and manage the Retail Media Network strategy, ensuring effective activation and robust reporting.
  • Optimize media investments and deliver measurable results that drive growth.


Marketing Investment Model, Planning & Value Reporting:

  • In close partnership with marketing leadership, oversee the retail marketing investment model, ensuring alignment with overall business goals, and crafting and presenting investment plans with full context for business leaders to align on support plan and structure.
  • Plan and track marketing expenditures, providing value reporting and insights to key stakeholders.


Retail Brand Proposition Ownership:

  • Own and manage the retail brand proposition for a specific CertainTeed brand, ensuring consistent messaging and positioning across all channels.


Retail Marketing Liaison:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day marketing relationships with retail partners, establishing close and effective relationships that result in strong strategy and analytics for all categories.
  • Overall advocacy initiatives, if implemented, to amplify brand presence and drive customer engagement


Sales Materials:

  • Prepare and present marketing portions of the Product Line Review (PLR), ensuring alignment with retail and channel strategies.


Event Management:

  • Coordinate and manage events in collaboration with the channel team, ensuring effective execution and alignment with marketing goals.


In-Store Merchandising Programs:

  • Work closely with the channel team to manage in-store merchandising programs, exploring and potentially managing a direct agency model.
  • Support Planogram (POG) creation and ensure alignment with overall marketing strategy.


What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in the required field; MBA a plus
  • 7+ of progressive marketing experience with demonstrated success in building brands working with national retail customers (ideally in the building products / home improvement space), customer insight gathering, and implementing comprehensive integrated marketing strategies and plans for large organizations.
  • Experience in the building products or durables preferred
  • Demonstrated success developing and working with digital, social, web-based, and new media tools, including marketing automation
  • Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills including ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with B2B and B2C businesses, including retail
  • Able to collaborate effectively - works well with others and is considered a true team player who works to build strong relationships/partnerships
  • A self-starter with a sense of urgency, a strong work ethic, commitment to driving results, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a highly collaborative environment; must have a creative approach to problem solving, and the ability to take advantage of emerging opportunities/changing priorities
  • Strong project and process management skills, including demonstrated ability to manage complex and long-range projects effectively, collaboratively, and on-time
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to support data-driven decisions and manage metrics-based marketing communications performance
