Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Retina Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in a retina-focused practice and possess scribe experience. This role is integral to our practice, ensuring that patients receive top-quality care and support throughout their treatment journey.
Texan Eye is located in Austin, TX, and has four different locations.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including visual acuity tests, intraocular pressure measurements, and detailed patient histories.
Assist in diagnostic testing such as OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), fluorescein angiography, fundus photography, and other specialized retinal imaging.
Provide accurate and efficient scribe support during patient consultations, documenting clinical findings and treatment plans as dictated by the physician.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
Assist in minor surgical procedures and intravitreal injections, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care, medication instructions, and follow-up appointments.
Maintain meticulous patient records and ensure all documentation is completed in compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaborate with the medical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient practice operations.

Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Ophthalmic Technician in a retina-focused practice.
Proficiency in performing diagnostic tests and imaging specific to retinal conditions.
Strong scribing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, procedures, and equipment.
Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) is preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
