The Retirement Plan Consultant & Administrator is responsible for end-to-end administration and compliance services associated with qualified retirement plans. The consultant also cross-checks the work of those with the same title. This position offers the opportunity for fully remote work, so a high level of integrity, discipline, and excellent virtual communication skills are essential.


Responsibilities

As the Retirement Plan Consultant & Administrator, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of qualified retirement plan documents, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory changes, and maintaining a case block of plans within a specified range. Additionally, you will handle various administrative tasks including required compliance testing, contribution calculations, trust accounting, Form 5500 preparation, and client interactions, while providing support to management and collaborating with colleagues as needed. Experience with workflow management softwares and proficiency in FTWilliam for administration and compliance are highly desirable.


Core Responsibilities


  • Handle all aspects relating to qualified retirement plan documents
  • Track and adhere to legal, compliance, and regulatory changes within the industry
  • Maintain case block of plans between 65 and 95
  • Responsible for all aspects of DC administration including ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy, and 401(a)(4) non-discrimination testing
  • Prepare employer contribution calculations using various allocation methods (e.g., pro-rata, permitted disparity, and cross-tested formulas)
  • Prepare Form 5500 and related schedules
  • Prepare all trust accounting and annual valuations
  • Assist with IRS and client audits
  • Handle client interactions in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide support and assistance to management
  • Manage plan work using workflow management software (Teamwork experience is a bonus)
  • Utilize FTWilliam for administration and compliance
  • Utilize FTWilliam document software to prepare document amendments and document restatements
  • Collaborate with coworkers as needed


Qualifications

We are seeking a dedicated professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in retirement plan administration, who is committed to delivering exceptional service in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess or be willing to obtain relevant industry designations and demonstrate proficiency in key software tools such as FTWilliam and CRM systems. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations are essential for success in this role.


  • 3+ years of experience administrating retirement plans with duties similar to those outlined in this job description
  • Has or is willing to obtain QKA/APA or equivalent designations with ASPPA or NIPA – education support provided
  • Proficient in FTWilliam, including compliance, 5500, Documents, and FTWilliam Portal Pro
  • Familiar with CRM software (HubSpot experience is a bonus)
  • Proficient in standard office technology (O365, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Understanding of current retirement industry standards and regulations
  • Superior organization and time management skills with a drive to adhere to deadlines
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow Uniglobal company procedures
  • Well-developed analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Trustworthy with the ability to maintain confidentiality
