As an RMA Repair Technician, the successful incumbent will have electronics manufacturing experience with both surface mount and through hole component technologies. You specialize in rework, repair and building of various assemblies at various levels of completion with good hand, eye coordination with these technologies. You will have good repair experience, and soldering skills to perform RMA repair jobs and excellent understanding and ideally training in IPC soldering standards and J Standard soldering.
The primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to:
Conduct quality control for all MRI RMA products to meet commercial standards and customer satisfaction
Final testing for all MRI RMA products in finished goods condition and upgrades
Report any defective parts to RMA Repair Database
On-site customer support service as needed
Repair, assemble and test electronic products (LED display modules, controllers, etc.)
Performs in-line inspection, using magnifying devices to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards
Soldering, desoldering preparation, cleaning of surface mount and through hole components, pads, etc. following IPC 610 and J-STD-001 criteria
Use low and high voltage wattage soldering irons and hot air reflow systems for surface mount components (SMDs) and through hole components
Provide in-process inspection and touch up of through hold and surface mount components (SMD)
Keep immediate and nearby work areas and equipment in safe, clean and orderly condition
Report any unsafe or abnormal conditions or opportunities for continual improvement to direct Supervisor
Work collaboratively with other team members and leadership
Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Academic Training:
Vocational school certificate or college degree required
Work Experience:
Experience in PC / System, server repair, testing and good soldering skills
Experience working in a manufacturing environment an asset
Good knowledge on PC, system, server repair and troubleshooting
Specific Competencies:
Good operation software skills in Windows or Linux
Capable of self-motivated hard work with a positive attitude
Must be a team player, ability to work under pressure
Disciplined, proactive and shows initiative
