Currently, we are seeking a Robotics Automation Engineer for our Maintenance Department. The job is outlined below:

Job Scope:

The Robotics Automation Engineer will provide Engineering support to all maintenance processes and equipment including troubleshooting of processes and equipment, optimizing work processes, as well as the planning and improvement of preventive maintenance processes. The selected individual will also assist with coordination of outside contractors as well as train and motivate lower level maintenance staff members.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1. SME for Fanuc Robotics, providing direct service, training, support and vendor supervision.
2. Perform RCA to reduce repetitive breakdowns.
3. Determine/modify PM plan for equipment using CMMS system
4. Budget for and coordinate vendor work for maintaining zone equipment
5. Provide support on equipment breakdowns.
6. Develop improvement initiatives to reduce breakdowns, repair time and/or costs.
7. Review parts requirements
8. Promote importance of data and service quality within maintenance community as well as assists with the development and coaching of junior maintenance staff.
9. Identify training required to improve craft skill levels based upon data and field observations.
10. Refine work content of PPM routines and analyze planned downtime of equipment to develop and improve PPM schedules and methods.
11. Coordinate repairs or overhaul of equipment performed by outside contractors and assist with building appropriate budget planning and control of outside contractor work.
12. Develop job scope for major unique jobs by working with maintenance planner as necessary.
13. Demonstrate and model value of PPM to minimize level of Reactive Maintenance

Accountabilities:

1. Maintains factory 6 axis robot population tracking information and applies to spare parts, PM and training requirements.
2. Regularly review downtime reports and equipment histories to identify recurring maintenance problems requiring engineering attention, therefore finding engineering solutions to the identified situation.
3. Identify and develop predictive technologies and source equipment necessary to carry out activities to increase equipment availability.
4. Implement kaizens to improve machine availability and reduce down time
5. Accurately plan the budget for outside contractor work.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

1. Bachelors of Engineering degree focusing in Automation or a closely related field of study
2. 3-5 years experience supporting Fanuc robot material handling applications. R-30iB +, R-30iB and R-30iA systems.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and provide clarity to all levels within an organization
4. Proficient data analysis skills and ability to solve problems, identify patterns and report relevant data to senior level management
5. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance processes, machine reliability, repair, and maintenance
6. Demonstrated trouble shooting/problem solving experience in an engineering role
7. Familiar with CMMS or tracking systems
8. iRVision and force sensing experience

1. AGV experience
2. Electrical maintenance of FANUC CNC/PMC systems
3. Mechanical maintenance of CNC milling and turning machines
4. Experience with PLC programming/maintenance
