Location: NYC
Salary: $150-175k basic + attractive benefits

Position Overview:
This strategic role empowers you to orchestrate comprehensive safety programs for diverse heavy civil projects within the NYC region. You'll partner with project teams to integrate safety excellence into every stage of operations, building a robust culture of proactive prevention and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement strong safety programs, tailored to meet the unique demands of complex heavy civil projects, including rail, highways, bridges, and tunnels.
- Conduct comprehensive and methodical safety inspections, proactively identifying and mitigating potential hazards before they materialize into incidents.
- Provide leadership and guidance on all EHS matters, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all project personnel.
- Monitor project activities to identify and mitigate potential hazards, proactively preventing incidents.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and training programs to ensure continuous improvement.
- Investigate and report incidents, taking corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Promote industry best practices through the delivery of engaging safety training and educational programs for all project personnel.
- Ensure meticulous compliance with all applicable OSHA and DOT/MTA regulations across all project sites.
- Foster a collaborative and open communication environment, where safety-first thinking is ingrained in every decision and action.
- Partner strategically with project managers, superintendents, and foremen to seamlessly integrate safety into project planning, execution, and delivery.
- Lead thorough investigations of safety incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Leverage cutting-edge safety technology and data analytics to continuously monitor and optimize safety performance across projects.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in construction safety, with a strong emphasis on heavy civil projects.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Manager in Safety (CMIS) designation is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing safety programs for large-scale, complex infrastructure projects with the MTA.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, fostering collaboration and buy-in across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to identify and address safety challenges.
- Positive attitude and unwavering commitment to continuous learning and improvement in the field of safety.
