The Manager, Sanitation plans, coordinates, and directs Sanitation program designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors: Backup: VP of Operations
Essential Job Functions
Oversees daily operations of the sanitation department focusing on 2nd shift
Flexible with schedule to work with entire sanitation team by working with different shifts and minimal weekends as required
Manages up to 48 sanitation employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of sanitation department
Manages team to meet financial standards for labor hours and dollars
Trains, schedules and supervises the sanitation team to maintain the plant and equipment in a sanitary manner
Works directly with Sanitation Supply vendor to ensure proper inventory, handling, application of chemicals
Responsible for preparing and maintaining all requisite documentation for successful implementation of SQF as it pertains to sanitation and related activities
Participates in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality, safety. and sanitation improvements
Leads Continuous Improvement of facility sanitation
Controls and maintains the Sanitation budget
Manages Sanitation staff
Works with the Food Safety Team to identify and correct sanitation or environmental issues at assigned facility

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability
Bilingual. English-Spanish required. Ability to read production schedules, Safety data sheets, Master Sanitation Schedule, budgets and reports.
Math Ability
Basic math aptitude, including calculation of fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
Knowledge and/or exposure to MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook.
Other Skills/Abilities
Detail oriented, ability to self-motivate, and ability to consistently deliver high‐quality work product.
Ability to work in a team environment with a positive "get it done" attitude.
Ability to thrive in an environment which is both ad-hoc, as well as an environment in which one must play multiple roles to support the organization.
