The Project

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking a scheduler– transit and rail - to join our established and growing team in New York.

In this position they will prepare and review 2-week, 6-week and project duration schedules. Collaboration across multiple workstreams and communication with project teams and owners.

You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Supports analysis of schedule, identifies and investigates project schedule variances.
  • Reviews contractor schedule for compliance with contract and scheduling technicalities.
  • Reviews contractor’s time impact analysis.
  • Collects and updates data and updates and produces scheduling reports.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of WBS and support activities to implement applicable coding.
  • Supports basic schedule development.
  • Supports in development of Construction Time Determination (CTD) Schedule
  • Supports gathering and assembling data for schedule updating.
  • Supports measurement of project schedule progress and gathers and assembles data for schedule and network updating.
  • Gathers data for schedule baseline development and maintenance.
  • Understands CPM scheduling concepts and principles and able to develop basic engineering, procurement and construction logic.
  • Understands concepts and principles of scope control and change management and earned value methodology.
  • Supports monthly report preparation.
  • Participates in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues.

You’ll Need To Have

  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling concepts and principles including effects on financial performance.
  • Familiar with data sources and supports basic schedule development.
  • Familiar with construction drawings, specifications and construction contracting methods.
  • Exposure to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in reporting, data analysis, and presentation development.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Suite, Power BI, Tableau).
  • New York/New Jersey specific experience.
  • Evidence of good potential growth shown by satisfactory performance in past positions.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and to react objectively and expeditiously to critical and emergency construction operation engineering problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity.

You’ll Also Have

  • Amtrak, MTA, NJT, MNRR, LIRR experience preferred.
