Scrum Master (Contract)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scrum Master to join Growth Analytics team at Shutterfly, focusing on driving the success of testing and experimentation initiatives. In this role, you will facilitate agile processes and ensure that cross-functional teams effectively deliver high-quality, data-driven experiments that enhance our marketing strategies and product development. The Scrum master will lead and coach the team members in self-management and cross-functionality; Helping the Scrum Team focus on creating high-value Increments that meet the goals of a given test. Scrum Masters focus also on the removal of impediments to the Scrum Team’s progress.

• This is a 5-month remote contract opportunity with 20-40 hours/week.**
  
  

What You Will Do

• Manage pool of execution resources, primarily working with functional leads (but with direct access to all working team members when needed)
• Receive tests from the control tower manager and assign them to the test leads in a way to balance the workload
• Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies to include weekly sprint planning, test brief, test kick off, sprint review, and sprint retrospective
• Ensure clear communication between the team and stakeholders, providing regular updates on experiment status, outcomes, and next steps.
• Act as the first point of contact to resolve immediate problems facing tests, and take ownership to solve these problems
• Assist Product/Pods Owners in maintaining a well-groomed backlog, prioritizing work based on business value, and ensuring that the team is always working on the most impactful tasks.
• Create a purposeful sharing and learning environment, experimenting with various ideas to improve delivery including cross-functional training and partnering
• Support team members in understanding and applying Agile principles, encouraging best practices in both Marketing and Product experimentation.
• Maintain documentation for the team.
  
  

The Skills You'll Bring

• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master. Analytics or prior performance Marketing experience as a plus
• Experience building relationships with business partners, stakeholders, teammates and external third parties when necessary
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Proven ability to motivate and inspire others to actions. Experience with introducing Scrum to a team with limited Agile knowledge
• Confidence to be the voice of authority – not afraid to do what is best for team
• Comfort being assertive and balancing empathy with impact orientation
• Bias for hypothesis-driven, data-driven thinking with fail-fast mentality of testing, learning, and iterating
• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
• Curious about what drives business trends and demonstrated capacity to learn on the fly
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certification preferred
