Primary Purpose
As the leader for the corporate security team, you will be responsible for implementing and directing a responsible enterprise security risk management program for Sempra and its affiliates. Leading a security team that will look to you for direction and expertise in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining the security processes and infrastructure across the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability to reduce financial loss to the organization. You will also drive investigations into criminal, financial loss; crimes against persons; sabotage; threats; emergencies; illegal acts; and property or environmental crimes. Understands state-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard enterprise-wide assets.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Administers the security functions of the corporate team by directing team members and personally taking part in criminal and administrative investigations, security surveys of facilities and the design of new security systems.
- Plans and develops training programs and manages the delivery of training sessions for employees of the company.
- Provides security and criminal related advice to supervisors/managers, directors, attorneys, and officers of the company involving situations related to criminal and administrative matters.
- Attends planning/staff meetings with various teams and staff members to ensure security issues are proactively addressed.
- Liaisons with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
- Manages, coordinates, and in some cases investigates helpline complaints assigned to the Corporate Security team.
- Functions as a lead member of the Workplace Violence Mitigation Team.
- Support the corporate security team with administrative duties such as timekeeping approval and posting of payroll, approval of reimbursable expenses by Agents, Field Business card purchases, Supply Net purchases, Public Data Base Accounts, Accounts Payable Invoices for guard services, budget and salary planning for Corporate Security.
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of study is required.
- Managerial experience in a major law enforcement agency exceeding the work experience requirement can be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Master’s degree in a relevant area of study is preferred.
- Required:
- Experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization: 10 years.
- Preferred:
- Experience working investigations and/or incident response: 5 years.
- Experience leading a team of security professionals: 5 years.
- Professional Certification, (FBI National Academy Graduate, Certified Protection Professional, CPP)
- Advanced Communication Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally to individuals and/or groups.
- Ability to guide and influence individuals and/or groups to achieve established goals and objectives.
- Advanced understanding of physical security best practices, procedures, and policies.
- Ability to manage budgets and expenses with a basic understanding of general financial practices.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
- We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.
- This position is eligible for a referral bonus.
