Senior Accountant

Seeking a Senior Accountant with prior experience in the construction industry. This person will play a pivotal role on the finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strategic planning, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will collaborate with various departments to analyze financial data, provide insights, and support decision-making processes. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and manage budgets, as well as create financial forecasts to guide business decisions.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, collaborating with tax advisors as necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of financial strategies and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior accounting staff, reviewing their work and providing training as needed.
  • Assess financial risks and implement measures to mitigate them, including the development of internal controls.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and financial integrity.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.
  • Prior experience within construction industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
