Base pay range
StevenDouglas is partnering with a PE-backed manufacturing company in a high growth phase to add a Senior Accountant to their team due to the growth. This role will report directly to the Controller, who provides mentorship and opportunities to succeed and grow your career. The Senior Accountant position involves applying established accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial data, produce accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure effective accounting controls.
Hybrid: 1 to 2 days per week in office
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile and analyze financial information to support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including account reconciliations.
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are consistently met.
- Prepare financial management reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing account data and trends.
- Analyze financial information to recommend or develop resource-efficient procedures, offer strategic advice, and address business and financial challenges.
- Verify support schedules against general ledger control accounts. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, review sales, cost of goods sold, and expense accounts for accuracy, and make necessary corrections.
- Compile and post monthly journal entries.
- Support external auditors, including those from insurance, government, and accounting sectors.
- Verify financial transactions and reconcile discrepancies by reviewing account information and supporting documents.
- Address accounting procedure inquiries by researching and interpreting accounting policies and regulations.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc analyses as required, including tasks related to acquisitions.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Experience with balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close required.
- Familiarity with intercompany transactions and annual external audits preferred.
- Experience in a corporate accounting environment is advantageous.
