Senior Accountant

Candidates must CURRENTLY LIVE IN NORTH CAROLINA and be willing to travel to Wake Forest, NC for onboarding and quarterly meetings.

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the financial operations of this growing organization. This position requires a detail-oriented, polished professional who can work independently and liaise with various teams, including the executive finance team and property management entity. While REIT experience is not a top priority, familiarity with financial reporting and analysis is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete month-end close procedures, including account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, and review and analysis of revenue and expense accounts
• Prepare monthly financial reports analyzing variances in financial performance
• Identify, document, and implement accounting policies and process improvements
• Assist in the transition and integration of new real estate assets into our financial system.
• Manage depreciation and interest calculations for owned properties.
• Oversee accounting for all leased warehouses (utility payment/analysis, lease/straight line expense, leasehold improvement allocation, etc.)
• Support the upcoming ERP implementation to NetSuite
• Interface directly with the Property Management Company to manage property development and acquisitions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on financial reporting and analysis.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and provide strategic solutions.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface with executive teams and external partners.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience with property development and real estate accounting is a plus.
