Senior Accountant

Steven Douglas has been exclusively engaged by our highly successful private distribution client located in Jacksonville, FL. Together, we're looking for a strong Senior Accountant to join the growing team, and the position will pay up to $85k base salary.

The role reports to a talented Accounting Manager and supports GL accounting, month-end close and financial reporting for multiple entities. It sits on the General Ledger team, and there will be exposure to intercompany transactions and fixed asset accounting. Responsibilities:

• Engages in daily, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department, overseeing tasks such as budget management, review, and analysis.
• Handles expense allocations, prepares monthly accruals, records journal entries, and adjusts/reclassifies entries as needed.
• Conducts general ledger account analyses and reconciles all assigned balance sheet accounts, including performing variance analysis compared to the budget/forecast.
• Assists in creating financial reports, including financial statements, budget performance reviews, and branch-specific financial updates.
• Reconciles balance sheet and profit & loss statements.
• Support the preparation, reconciliation, and filing of sales tax.
• Manages and updates records for fixed assets and construction-in-progress, including administering fixed asset software.
• Takes on additional accounting, financial, or administrative responsibilities to support other team members in the Accounting/Finance Department.
• Creates and maintains accurate records and information across various formats and platforms, ensuring privacy compliance and confidentiality.
• Prepares correspondence as required and completes assigned financial analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of corporate accounting experience (Strong GL and M.E. Close)
• Experience with fixed assets, CIP, payroll (nice to have)
• Strong Excel and ERP system skills
