Senior Accountant
Company Overview
This organization is a physician-led network of pediatric practices. We are searching for an experienced accountant to join their team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this position will play a crucial part in supporting financial operations. Location: Jacksonville, FL
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheet reconciliations and income statements. Analyze financial data and present findings to management.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting. Monitor variances and provide explanations as needed.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable processes, including vendor payments and reconciliations. Manage accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and support external audits as well as periodic internal audits. Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Special Projects: Participate in ad hoc projects as assigned by the VP of Finance. Contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in core accounting functions.
- CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
- Experience in public accounting is advantageous.
- Healthcare industry experience is beneficial, but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
