Senior Accountant, Corporate Finance

The Ren Corporate Finance group is a highly collaborative and skilled team and is looking for a hard-working professional with strong technical and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic. The Senior Accountant, Corporate Finance will be responsible for many areas of accounting and finance, including but not limited to monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, revenue recognition, preparation of financial statements, treasury and expense management, financial analysis, and budgeting and forecasting. This role will also provide oversight to the accounts payable and credit card processes, as well as other underlying supporting processes. This role will report to the Manager, Corporate Reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Record and review financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), as well as company policies and procedures, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Works cross-functionally to obtain information from other departments at various management levels.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare monthly revenue recognition reconciliations for both revenue and accounts receivable, in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Maintains all borrowing and lease records, including proper lease accounting under ASC 842, as well as compiles and maintains all debt compliance records.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and quarterly bank reporting.
  • Assist with expense reporting, forecasting, and analysis for budget owners.
  • Oversee corporate cash accounts, cash reconciliations and cash forecasting.
  • Oversee the accounts payable and company credit card processes through bill.com.
  • Assist with the annual budget cycle and provide support, as needed.
  • Assist with the year-end financial audit, including preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Prepare tax related filings in relevant states based on Nexus and other applicable tax filing metrics, including but not limited to sales & use tax.
  • Support the implementation of new close management system through documentation of workflows and processes, implementation of best practices, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provides coaching and direct supervision of one accountant.
  • Be an integral player in identifying areas for continuous improvement to help make our department and Company run more smoothly and efficiently.
  • In addition to the above duties, this position will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 4-6 years of accounting experience
  • CPA, preferred
  • Attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and ad hoc projects within a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Data analysis and experience working within Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • GL / ERP software experience, preferred
