Overview

The Senior Accountant supports the accounting functions and reports to the Controller. Under general direction, a Senior Accountant is responsible for compiling data for financial and fiscal reports; analyzing and reconciling financial transactions and accounts; preparing journal entries; maintaining the general ledger; and supporting the month-end-close process. Incumbents are responsible for handling large sets of data and providing technical guidance and leadership to ensure efficient processing of all necessary accounting transactions, and recommend, develop and implement system modifications as necessary.

Responsibilities

Assigns expenses to appropriate accounts or sub-accounts.

Maintains accounting records and general ledgers.

Interfaces with financial institutions regarding cash balances, transfers, and statements.

Prepares manual journal entries.

Reconciles Balance Sheet accounts.

Downloads ADP payroll reports and updates mapping changes in ADP portal.

Maintain PTO reconciliation by employee and tie to GL monthly.

Maintain SAP to Oracle account mapping.

Enter exchange rates into SAP.

Order and cancel purchase and travel credit cards.

Supervise AR and AP remote employees.

Reconcile AR Factoring accounts.

Assists in annual audit and support.

Interfaces with internal and external customers.

Assists in preparation of annual operation and capital budgets.

Interpret and apply concepts to accounting and auditing functions.

Analyze data and draw logical conclusions.

Develop and improve new accounting methods and techniques.

Ability to analyze situations accurately and recommend an effective course of action.

Understand generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).

Initiate, plan and complete work assignments with minimum direction and control.

Apply accounting procedures used in controlling account accruals, deferrals, bank reconciliations, closing processes, and account receivables and payables.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Bachelor’s Degree Finance or Accounting.

8+ years of related full-cycle Sr. Accounting experience through financial statement preparation within a project based accounting environment.

2+ years experience in a lead, supervisor or management role.

Knowledge of accounting principles and theories including accrual accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and preparation of financial reports in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.

This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a US person under US export laws or, eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license. A US Person includes a US citizen, lawful Permanent Resident, refugee or asylee.

Preferred

11+ years of related accounting experience in processing accounts receivable and/or payable.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

ERP systems experience, preferably SAP and Oracle.

Communicates effectively with peers, internal, and external customers.

Handles challenging situations well.

Can work effectively in a fast-past environment.

Understands accounting procedures and transactions used in controlling and subsidiary account accruals, deferrals, bank reconciliations, the closing process, account receivables and payables.

Salary Range: Accountant IV: $120,000- $150,000 & Accountant V: $150,000-$170,000 Annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
