What You'll Do
Avalara is hiring a Sr. Business Development Manager within our Business Development Team. You will expand relationships with our most strategic integration partners and establish new integration partner relationships.
This role is instrumental in helping us achieve its strategic goals. It will be high visibility, and high impact. You'll get exposure to multiple departments within the organization and help us activate our value creation plan.

What You'll Need to be Successful
What You Will Do
- You'll maintain a pipeline of strategic integration partners.
- You'll analyze our key markets to identify target integration partners.
- You'll develop a professional working relationship with a partner prospect’s decision makers.
- You'll build business cases and complete market sizing models to sell partners on integrating Avalara products.
- You'll promote the value of Avalara products and services in a compelling manner to partners in multiple industries and to multiple external audiences.
- You'll work with a team made up of Business Development, Product, Sales, Legal, Product Marketing, and Operations to ensure maximum revenue potential.
- You'll develop subject matter expertise on Avalara products and industry best practices to provide relevant recommendations to partners during contract negotiation and product integration.
- You'll occasionally travel to meet with partners and to other Avalara offices.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited college or university, or equivalent career experience.
- Experience achieving performance goals including quotas, revenue targets or other measurements.
- Seven or more years of business development, sales, customer or partner management, consulting or related experience.
- Skill in negotiating contracts and comfort discussing legal documents and terminology.
- Experience with spreadsheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets) and presenting business cases in compelling ways.
- Familiar with e-commerce store-front development and the major ecommerce platforms
- Familiar with cross-border shipping and international ecommerce.
