Job Description
The Senior Associate Director for Admissions & Financial Aid manages recruitment and outreach initiatives at the Law School while providing substantial support to admissions recruiting, evaluation, and yield activities. This includes a substantive role, in partnership with the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management, in shaping the strategic direction of these efforts. Additionally, this position will spearhead the assessment of market trends and competitor landscapes to inform data-driven decisions, ensuring that the Law School remains at the forefront of industry best practices and procedures. Key responsibilities include developing and managing large on-campus recruiting and admissions events and reviewing applications for admission. Previous experience in admissions, financial aid, enrollment, and staff management is required in order to operate effectively and independently.
Essential Functions Include
Ranked #28 nationally by U.S. News and World Report, Boston College Law School enrolls over 650 full-time JD students on the Newton campus. The six-member team receives over 6,000 applications for admissions to the JD program annually.

Essential Functions Include
- Plan, organize, and manage the department’s recruiting initiatives at local, regional, national, and international events and venues. Recruit and counsel prospective students and applicants, including diverse populations, through in-person office visits/phone calls/email and travel to events in other states/countries.
- Review and evaluate applications for admission and financial aid and recommend decisions accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with the Assistant Dean of Graduate Enrollment to serve as a strategic partner in developing and implementing initiatives to enhance the law school’s recruitment, evaluation, and enrollment process. This entails providing valuable insights and recommendations based on market analysis, competitor research, and emerging trends in higher education.
- Plan, organize, and manage large on-campus recruitment and student events for the department, including admitted student days and orientations.
- Coordinate with other departments at the Law School and University.
- Counsel students regarding financial aid options and make referrals for other forms of counseling when necessary.

Requirements
- Five years experience in admissions, financial aid, and/or enrollment management required.
- Master’s (MA, MEd, etc.) degree or Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Prior experience at a law school or highly-selective institution strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with planning and managing large student events required.
- Prior experience with planning and managing recruitment of students required.
- Prior experience with the recruitment and engagement of diverse populations preferred.
- Driver’s license, or ability to obtain a driver’s license, required.
- Ability to represents the Law School on national committees.
- Serves as an internal liaison for various law school and university committees.
- Serves as a public-facing representative of the school.
- Recommend and implement new technologies to improve department efficiencies.
- Serves as a primary decision maker for the evaluation of admissions applications.
- Able to evaluate students’ financial aid appropriately.
- Demonstrates independent decision-making.
- Design and manage large student events.
- Exercise a high degree of professionalism and customer-service orientation.
- Excellent listening skills and management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
