Job Summary

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Senior Cancer Registry Tech is responsible for chart abstraction and follow-up as well as maintaining registry compliance with regulatory standards established by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (COC). Responsible for completing and/or coordinating QA functions (physician and peer review), data requests and report writing. Submits required datasets to OCISS and the NCDB. Serves as liaison to internal and external customers related to registry functions and provides orientation and training for new staff and non-certified registry personnel.

Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

  • Education: High School graduate; Associate's degree in Health Information Management preferred.
  • Licensure / Certification: Certified Tumor Registrar ( CTR) required
  • Experience: At least five years experience with cancer registry chart abstraction preferred
