Job Summary

Responsible for planning and implementing a coordinated program of fundraising activities for the AI Hub. Promote, and nurture innovative industry partnerships, entrepreneurship, and student and faculty programs. Establish goals and oversee staff activities including identification, evaluation, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective fundraising efforts. Oversee the quality and quantity of major fundraising activity in the unit and act to increase both. Establish and effectively manage relationships with most critical, highest profile prospects. Responsible for setting employee and/or group goals, deciding on organizational structure to meet the goals, assessing employee and group performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Institute-wide executive leadership, Corporate Engagement and Development staff, external donors, faculty and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Institute-wide executive leadership, Development staff, external contacts, and faculty. This position may supervise assigned staff. The AI Hub is a thriving network, bringing together over 1000 faculty and students who work on fundamental and applied AI-related research across the entire Institute.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Lead corporate engagement efforts within a college, IRI(s) or other GT unit with college-level or GT-enterprise-wide focus or mission.

Job Duty 2 -

Serve as the primary point-of-contact between OCE and the unit's leadership (dean, director, etc.) on matters related to corporate engagement and business development.

Job Duty 3 -

Perform fundraising, business development, and revenue generation including sponsored research, executive and professional education, utilization of university resources, licensing, and other forms of revenue from corporate partners for the assigned unit and for the balance of the GT enterprise..

Job Duty 4 -

Manage relationships for a corporate partner portfolio capable of generating $1M/year or more per relationship.

Job Duty 5 -

Ensure coordination of corporate partner engagements within the assigned unit and with other units at GT.

Job Duty 6 -

Work with corporate-facing partners within GT, including the Office of Corporate & International Contracting/Exchange Agreements, GT Foundation, Career Center, Office of Commercialization ' Office of Technology Licensing, and Professional Education towards the successful negotiation, resolution of issues, and execution of agreements.

Job Duty 7 -

Supervise and mentor corporate-facing staff within the college or unit.

Job Duty 8 -

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with in a technical or business discipline.

Required Experience

Eight to ten years job related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience

Corporate engagement experience in a university environment and/or relevant experience in sales, marketing, and relationship management or other related fields.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Strong ability to manage and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population, perform and effectively make important decisions under pressure, communicate complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences, and effectively manage and direct team.

KNOWLEDGE

Key to success will be documented experience and understanding of issues related to university-industry engagement including sponsored research agreements, gifts agreements, publication rights, and Intellectual Property.
