Position Summary:
Crinetics is seeking a Senior Director of Medical Affairs Operations to play a key role in the effective functioning, as well as driving, strategic and operational success of the Medical Affairs organization. The individual will serve as a key business partner and trusted advisor to the SVP of Medical Affairs and Leadership Team and will be immersed in the establishment of a best-in-class organization, serving as a central figure in driving strategy deployment around vision, goals, roadmap, and other relevant deliverables across Medical Affairs. This individual will act as a critical integration point within Medical Affairs as well as partner organizations and will be responsible for the operational aspects of the Medical Affairs department.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
These may include but are not limited to:
Serve as strategic and operational partner to the SVP of Medical Affairs, Medical Leadership Team (MLT) and other senior leaders within the organization. Support Head of Medical Affairs on developing short- and long-term priorities and goals aligned to R&D and corporate outcomes. Organize efforts across the organization as needed to provide Head of Medical Affairs with timely and reliable information to support decision making, planning and communications. Oversee day-to-day operations within Medical Affairs, ensuring smooth and efficient function. Provide insights and guidance on strategic decisions and operational challenges. Focus on immediate and short-term (<2 years) strategic planning within Medical Affairs. Support the build out of the medical affairs infrastructure critical to supporting launch activities by collaboratively defining gaps, targets, governance, tools, and roles and responsibilities within and across teams. Facilitate functional goal setting process and track progress, results, and performance. Monitor and manage budget and resources ensuring optimal allocation and fiscal responsibility. Key liaison and interface with finance organization with regards to financial impact of strategic initiatives and investments. Partner with HR to develop and analyze headcount resources within the organization. Plan and implement MLT meetings, agendas, content, and actions to maximize team effectiveness and ensure optimal value is created. Partner with the MLT to ensure a high-performance team culture and talent development. Actively partner across R&D and other teams to ensure alignment on organizational plans and activities. Support the SVP on executive deliverables (e.g. updates to the CEO, materials to the Board of Director). Other duties as assigned.

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $240,000 - $290,000
In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. We also provide top-notch health insurance plans for employees (and their families) to include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance, 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and a winter company shutdown.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. Required:
- Advance degree (MBA) preferred.
- Minimum 10-13 years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience.
- Prior Medical Affairs Operations experience.
- Direct leadership experience required as well as leading in a Matrix environment.
- Collaborative, with the ability to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships, gaining trust and confidence from all levels within the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience preparing and delivering presentations to senior and executive management levels.
- Endocrinology related experience or work with endocrine-related assets.
