Shriners Children’s Springfield, part of an international pediatric health care system of hospitals, clinics, ambulatory surgery centers and global outreach, is looking for a strong candidate to lead the philanthropic efforts of their medical center. Shriners Children’s provides a full range of programs, services and support, caring for children in a welcoming, warm, reassuring environment.
Working closely with the Hospital Administrator and reporting to the Executive Director of Location Philanthropy, the Senior Director of Philanthropy will implement a comprehensive strategic plan for all fundraising activities, including maintaining a robust portfolio with donors and prospects and growing donor engagement, acquisition and stewardship.

Implementing a comprehensive strategic plan for all fundraising activities from major gifts to annual funds and events for the location, working closely with the Clinic Director and reporting to the Executive Director of Location Philanthropy,
Maintaining a robust portfolio with six- and seven-figure donors and prospects in pursuit of impactful fundraising targets
Working in collaboration with Shriners Children’s headquarters staff, Spingfield’s administration, and its Board of Governors to advance the philanthropy office
Growing donor engagement, acquisition and stewardship, and supporting overall philanthropic success.
Experience
7 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience required
5 years of experience working with major giving and planned giving programs required
Demonstrable track record of fundraising accomplishments required, including experience in building a major gifts program into a core component of philanthropic activity.
Experience closing major and planned gifts from individuals required
Working knowledge of all planned giving vehicles, including prior experience with Charitable Gift Annuities, required
Previous personnel management experience required
Experience in healthcare philanthropy preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Advanced degree preferred
Current Covid vaccination status is required
