Senior Director, Organizational Learning

Role Overview:

Hillel International is seeking a visionary Senior Director, Organizational Learning to spearhead efforts to foster continuous growth and knowledge-sharing across 550 campus-based Hillels and internal departments. This senior leader will be instrumental in shaping Hillel as a learning organization, cultivating reflective practice, and supporting the professional development of Hillel staff across the movement. Working in collaboration with cross-functional teams, you’ll advance strategic learning initiatives, identify emerging best practices, and facilitate growth opportunities for professionals at all levels.

The ideal candidate is an action-oriented thought leader capable of balancing strategic vision with attention to detail and thrives in dynamic, collaborative environments. This position reports to the Vice President of Organizational Learning and Development. This role is fully remote for United States-based candidates.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop a Strategic Learning Portfolio: Curate a forward-thinking portfolio of learning initiatives informed by data, surveys, evaluations, focus groups, and feedback from Hillel professionals, ensuring the portfolio aligns with the evolving needs of the field.
  • Create Actionable Learning Resources: Lead the production of high-impact resources, content, and deliverables that promote best practices, reflective learning, and innovation across the global Hillel movement.
  • Identify and Scale Best Practices: Unearth trends, innovative approaches, and success stories from campus Hillels and create opportunities to scale these across the movement.
  • Facilitate Learning Cohorts: Lead and convene learning cohorts that bring together Hillel professionals from various roles to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and build professional capacity.
  • Lead Strategic Initiatives: Play a key role in department-wide strategic projects, partnering with teams across Hillel International, such as Measurement, Innovation, and Talent Development, to promote insights and learning across functions.
  • Analyze and Synthesize Insights: Turn research, data, and conversations into actionable insights and learning opportunities that inform Hillel’s strategic direction and enhance field-wide growth.
  • Foster Cross-Team Collaboration: Build strong relationships across departments and with Hillel campus professionals to ensure organizational learning is integrated into all aspects of Hillel’s work.
  • Supervise and Mentor: Oversee and mentor the Senior Associate for Organizational Learning, fostering their professional growth and supporting the team's overall success.

  • Skilled Facilitator: Whether virtually or in-person, you have a talent for guiding conversations, creating learning spaces, and driving peer-to-peer knowledge sharing.
  • Relationship-Builder: You’re adept at cultivating strong connections with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, ensuring trust and collaboration across the organization.
  • Experience & Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or advanced degree preferred; 8+ years of professional experience, with previous Hillel experience strongly preferred. A background in Jewish Education, Jewish Nonprofit, or Higher Education.
