Job Description

As the Senior Director of Procurement Digital Transformation & Operations - Chief of Staff you will play a vital role in managing and optimizing operations within the function and measuring, analyzing, and optimizing performance around strategic programs that improve the bottom line. This critical role will report directly to the VP of Digital Transformation and Operations.

Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing strategies to effectively manage and measure supplier performance including, inventory, supplier business performance programs, supplier cost performance, supplier relationships & supplier recognition. You will accelerate process improvements already identified related to updating current process/policies that drive operational efficiencies connected to Digital transformation and data enablement efforts. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive these improvements, lead the change management, streamline processes, and enhance financial & business performance.

Chief-of-Staff

Lead and oversee the digital transformation initiatives within the procurement department. Drive strategic planning, execution, and delivery of procurement system transformation projects. The Chief of Staff will collaborate with key stakeholders, including other Operation Chief of Staffs, procurement teams, sourcing, operations, IT, finance, and senior management, to ensure alignment and successful project completion to drive results.

Procurement Strategy

Create and implement procurement strategies aligned with the overall business objectives. This involves understanding market trends, supplier capabilities, and internal needs to optimize procurement processes.

Supplier Performance Process Improvement

Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within supplier performance improvement programs. Streamline workflows, enhance system capabilities, and leverage technology solutions to drive digitalization and operational efficiency to enhance performance and accuracy in financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for supplier programs that aligns with the company's overall business goals
  • Assess and prioritize supplier performance and execution, and develop plans to improve performance
  • Identify, collaborate and implement new supplier sourcing strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce carrying costs, and minimize obsolescence.
  • Develop and implement digital strategies that align with business objectives and enhance procurement operations.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure that all stakeholders are on board with the supplier programs and digital transformation solutions
  • Monitor supplier performance and recommend proactive corrective actions as needed
  • Measure and report on the progress of the supplier programs, and make adjustments as needed
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project initiatives are available to deploy and complete on time.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in procurement operations
  • Identify the next big solution to drive the organization to the future by engaging and evaluating different suppliers, vendors, and technology / solutions
  • Support VP with other key strategic deliverables and operational initiatives to drive results

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or supply chain with demonstrated financial acumen, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of driving results and managing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strong program management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a structured way to ensure deliverables are met on time

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
