We are looking for an exceptionally awesome Senior Director, Strategy & Planning, to join our team here at ROI·DNA. This position reports to the AVP, Customer Engagement Strategy.

About You

We know that you have your must-haves when it comes to the right role. Here are ours so that we can ensure it’s a mutual fit. In order to be successful in this role, you must:

  • Possess a solid background in B2B digital marketing. This encompasses areas such as omnichannel strategy (paid, owned, and earned media), account-based experience (ABX blended strategy development), paid media channels, marketing analytics, marketing technology, and execution and management of digital marketing programs.
  • Be data-driven. You love reading and analyzing data and believe in using facts, data, and metrics to make strategic business decisions. You also enjoy teaching others how to read and interpret data and have experience up-leveling teams with your data-informed approach.
  • Excel at strategy and planning and also have the ability to synthesize information to tell a compelling story. You are capable of saying more with less.
  • Strongly believe in leaning in. This means coaching the team to be forward-thinking, jumping into projects, and rolling up your sleeves where it’s necessary. This doesn’t mean micromanaging but means leading by example and ensuring that your team and clients are set up for success.


Additionally, you’ll proactively bring innovative strategy, holistic ideas, and leadership to help clients meet their business goals. You are a critical thinker and seasoned storyteller, equal parts curious and creative while rigorous and analytical. You can read the room and hold your own talking growth strategy with marketing managers and C-Level executives alike. You must have a deep understanding, preferably from hands-on experience in marketing technology, strategy and planning, and activation designed to drive performance and measurable ROI.


As a key leader, you must also demonstrate the capability to develop strong partnerships with both clients and agency teams alike. We expect you to be both student and teacher, remaining eager to learn in our ever-changing landscape but ready to be a resource and mentor to anyone equally eager to learn.


What You'll Be Doing

Data-driven Strategy & Planning

  • Be able to design and/or speak expertly to the buyer journey and data-driven omnichannel strategies across paid, owned, and earned.
  • Steer the creation of buyer journeys, holistic communication plans, and corresponding media and messaging strategies, from setting objectives & KPIs, audience sizing, profiling, targeting, determining media channel mix and potential tactics/partners, budget setting to measurement frameworks
  • Ensure we orchestrate multi-discipline collaboration and implementation for flawless execution across the buyer journey, omnichannel campaign strategy, and activation
  • Continually monitor current marketing trends, new technology solutions, and competitors
  • Serve as a strategy leader responsible for managing client expectations and effectively setting up the growth team for shared success

Leadership

  • Successfully scale layers of management and ensure career paths/goals are being established for every member of your team.
  • Research and share omnichannel and ABX principles across your team and the agency, documenting and sharing best practices and driving innovative ideas.
  • Oversee all major deliverables and presentations for your client portfolio (executive presentations, MBRs/QBRs, annual review, in-person strategy meetings) to ensure delivery of high-quality, innovative strategy - with a consistent storyline to push the client’s business and goals forward.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for all clients within your portfolio by understanding when to step in with a client, coaching the team on any processes/next steps to mitigate issues, and helping implement client retention strategies.

Account Management

  • Ensure successful onboarding of all new clients within your portfolio- attending initial meet and greet meetings and overseeing initial overarching strategy to ensure we are off to a great start.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the holistic business for each client in your portfolio - with insights on their competitors, overarching business goals, engagements with other agency partners, performance priorities, etc.
  • Regularly bring insights to the strategy team that will help them deliver proactive growth-orientated solutions.
  • Possess the ability to identify business growth opportunities and develop strategic recommendations to support the growth of client relationships.

What You Have

  • 10+ years of experience in client-facing roles with omnichannel, ABX blended strategy development, digital media planning, and activation, with a minimum of 5 years of experience directly leading client relationships and managing accounts at an agency; or equivalent experience on the client side
  • Proven prior work experience managing a team of 4+ direct reports and demonstrated ability to mentor and develop direct reports into more senior roles
  • Natural, proven leadership instincts that your team will want to follow and your clients will implicitly trust. Able to understand clients' visible and invisible needs
  • Able to clearly and concisely articulate a persuasive point of view, both written and verbal, presenting to project stakeholders.
  • Understand first-party data to elevate strategic opportunities
  • Highly proactive and analytical mindset, with the ability to help drive projects forward
  • Proficiency in interpreting a dataset and understanding both the tactical and strategic implications to guide data-driven actions and strategies
  • Ability to synthesize datasets into actionable insights, effectively communicating the broader implications to inform strategic decision-making
  • Experience using insights from data to tell a story


Bonus if you have:

  • Experience aligning and generating synergies between client marketing, sales, and customer success teams to accelerate revenue generation
  • Martech experience across ABX platforms, such as 6sense, Demandbase, ZoomInfo, and Bombora
  • CRM experience with Salesforce
  • MAP experience with platforms such as HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot

The anticipated salary range for this position is $145k to $165k per year. Salary is determined by skills, experience, qualifications, alignment with market data, as well as internal and external equity.
