Senior Electrical Engineer
Energetics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for immediate full-time employment as a remote employee/on-site engineer at the US Department of Energy in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity in the sustainable transportation consulting field, supporting Energetics clients in the Zero emission transportation research and development programs. Qualified candidates will be graduates in an engineering or scientific field of interest, as noted below under requirements. Work tasks will primarily be related to the support of government research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) programs in the areas of advanced transportation technologies in the area of electric drive systems. This position offers excellent opportunities for professional growth, with potential for promotion to a management and supervisory position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supporting activities within the Electric and Energy Efficient Drive Systems Program to develop strategy and help execute U.S. government clean transportation energy R&D programs
- Representing Energetics directly with our existing clients, ensuring client satisfaction and successful project delivery
- Leveraging existing professional relationships to develop business with new clients
- Performing market and technology assessments; conducting technical, energy, environmental, and economic benefits analyses
- Developing, analyzing and managing data and models related to energy technologies and trends
- Collecting and analyzing technology R&D project and program information
- Developing/contributing to technical communications (reports, white papers, fact sheets, research summaries, briefings)
- Assisting with facilitating stakeholder engagement meetings and/or summarizing proceedings
- Providing project management support, including scheduling of meetings and preparing meeting summaries
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, integrated science and technology, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience or a Master’s degree in engineering, science, integrated science and technology, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written)
- High level of motivation and interest in working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to excel working on self-managed tasks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Multitasking on time-sensitive tasks without diminished quality of work
- Strong interest and experience working in the clean energy field
- Attention to detail and meeting responsibilities
- Team player
- Demonstrated interest in transportation and clean propulsion technologies
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
