Senior Financial Analyst

This position is responsible for the preparation and delivery of critical reports and high-level financial analyses to internal management in support of strategic and operational initiatives. This individual will provide analytical decision support for senior management, divisional sales teams and production facilities, as needed. This position researches and develops additional tools and analyses aimed at providing useful insight into operating results, as well as, other aspects of the Company’s performance. This individual partners with HR as the owner for sales compensation processes/communication and administers the sales compensation for the entire company.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze daily/weekly/monthly financial transactions to ensure accuracy of results, consistency across divisions/locations, and adherence to company policies & guidelines
  • Become a key user of the Corporate ERP system and accompanying Business Intelligence reporting application using both to develop or refine financial models, relevant reports, and dashboards for use in Finance and other functional areas of the business
  • Provide operational leaders with explanations, insights, and commentary on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to aid in the understanding of actual versus planned and prior results
  • Design and report on key performance indicators (KPI’s) and benchmarks to support long-term financial planning and strategic initiatives
  • Design, develop, and deliver reporting and analyses using SQL, Power BI, and other query tools
  • Lead the consolidated budgeting and forecasting process, driving alignment and collaboration with the Sales, Marketing and Finance teams
  • Assist in the preparation of the financial materials for monthly Executive Committee meetings, financial audits, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist all divisions and locations with issue resolution and data research, as needed
  • Administer and analyze commission programs for sales teams, including sales plan analysis, calculation of regular plan payments and trend analysis
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership cross-functionally to recommend commission program changes, incorporating feedback from organizational stakeholders
  • Ensure that commission programs drive the company's strategic objectives and that these initiatives are in alignment with the overall vision, goals, and standards
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities within Finance as well as other functional areas of the business
  • Participate in department and/or cross-functional projects and provide other ad-hoc analysis, as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, auditing, or related financial field, with an expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear actionable insights
  • Experience with sales compensation/commission plans preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively with high attention to detail, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent reporting skills with management systems, ERP software (Epicor preferred), Business Intelligence (Microsoft PowerBI preferred), etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
