Who we are:

The accounting firm of Hankins Eastup Deaton Tonn Seay & Scarborough, LLC has been serving Denton and the North Texas area since 1965. Now a part of the S|CPA Network, with offices in Houston, Austin, Amarillo, and Ohio. The firm is growing and looking to hire a Director of Audit.

Our firm’s audit operations serve a diverse roster of clients including school districts, not-for-profits, municipalities, construction, real estate, community associations, and small- to medium-sized businesses.

What you’ll do:

• Plan and execute financial audits in accordance with professional standards and company policies.
• Review and analyze financial statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial data.
• Identify business process risks.
• Develop testing methodologies to evaluate the adequacy of controls and document results.
• Develop and execute strategic initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices in financial auditing.
• Participate in sales and new business efforts.
• Oversee and train a team of accounting professionals.
• Develop and cultivate professional client relationships.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA license - Required
• 5+ years of recent audit and accounting experience at a public accounting firm, government entity or large corporation with prior success conducting external audits.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, time management, leadership and PC skills including technical expertise in auditing.
• Ability to lead and manage projects and initiatives and implement personnel and process improvements.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, recognize problems in management areas and implement solutions and lead by example.
