Senior Internal Auditor-Audit Services

Overview

Plans and performs financial, operations, and compliance audits. Plans and performs special projects as needed. Overnight travel is minimal and limited to Ohio. This position will have a potential for a flexible combination of on-site and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts complex audits and reviews, requiring a high degree of problem-solving and risk analysis.
  • Designs appropriate audit steps including preparing a thorough risk assessment and audit program. Designing tests of control effectiveness. Performing appropriate audit procedures including interviews, process walkthroughs, and data analyses.
  • Collects and analyzes complex data, evaluates information, and draws logical conclusions.
  • Works closely with audit clients to obtain agreement on risk areas and audit findings.
  • Identifies root causes and enables pragmatic and sustainable recommendations for improvement.
  • Provides cogent and impactful verbal and written communications identifying risks and areas for improvement.
  • Develops positive working relationships that foster open communication and contributes to perception that Audit Services is a partner to operations.

Qualifications

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, healthcare administration, business administration, or related field.

Certifications

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required or obtain within 12 months of effective date of hire.

Skills

  • Effective time management skills: ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse work group or as an individual contributor.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of auditing and accounting principles.

Experience

  • Five years professional experience in auditing, accounting, healthcare operations or similar field.
  • Experience with technologies such as IDEA, PowerBI and other analytic tools, required.
  • Healthcare experience, preferred.
