Responsibilities

Job Description:

  • Strategic Planning and Leadership:
    • Provide strategic direction and technical leadership in the design, implementation, and optimization of the organization's IT infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with IT leadership and stakeholders to develop long-term IT strategies, roadmaps, and investment plans.
  • System Administration and Optimization:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the organization's IT systems, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization environments.
    • Implement best practices for system configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and scalability.
  • Technical Support and Escalation:
    • Serve as a senior technical resource for troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing advanced technical support to end-users and IT team members.
    • Handle escalated incidents and problems, working closely with team members to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
  • Security Management and Compliance:
    • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and controls to protect IT systems, data, and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
    • Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure resilience and availability of critical IT systems and services.
    • Coordinate and conduct regular testing and drills to validate the effectiveness of recovery procedures and documentation.
  • Vendor Management and Procurement:
    • Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to IT systems, hardware, software, and services.
    • Evaluate and procure technology solutions and services, ensuring alignment with business requirements and strategic objectives.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
    • Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions, mentoring, and collaboration.
  • Project Management and Implementation:
    • Lead IT projects and initiatives related to system upgrades, migrations, implementations, and optimizations.
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and oversee project execution to ensure successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Professional) are preferred.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in progressively responsible system administration roles, with a focus on managing complex IT infrastructures in enterprise environments.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in administering Windows Server and/or Linux/Unix operating systems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
    • Advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
    • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, security principles, and backup and recovery solutions.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and system management.
  • Leadership and Communication:
    • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to effectively lead and mentor a team of IT professionals.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing IT projects from initiation to completion. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
