System Administration and Optimization:
Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the organization's IT systems, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization environments.
Implement best practices for system configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and scalability.
Technical Support and Escalation:
Serve as a senior technical resource for troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing advanced technical support to end-users and IT team members.
Handle escalated incidents and problems, working closely with team members to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
Security Management and Compliance:
Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and controls to protect IT systems, data, and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities.
Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure resilience and availability of critical IT systems and services.
Coordinate and conduct regular testing and drills to validate the effectiveness of recovery procedures and documentation.
Vendor Management and Procurement:
Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to IT systems, hardware, software, and services.
Evaluate and procure technology solutions and services, ensuring alignment with business requirements and strategic objectives.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions, mentoring, and collaboration.
Project Management and Implementation:
Lead IT projects and initiatives related to system upgrades, migrations, implementations, and optimizations.
Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and oversee project execution to ensure successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Professional) are preferred.
Experience: 5-8 years of experience in progressively responsible system administration roles, with a focus on managing complex IT infrastructures in enterprise environments.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in administering Windows Server and/or Linux/Unix operating systems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, security principles, and backup and recovery solutions.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and system management.
Leadership and Communication:
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to effectively lead and mentor a team of IT professionals.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
Project Management: Experience in managing IT projects from initiation to completion. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
