Your Impact

A role in Financial Reporting means that you will belong to a high achieving team that directly supports our mission. As Senior Manager – Financial Reporting, you will leverage your experience in SEC reporting and technical accounting as a leader on our SEC Reporting team.

Alongside your involvement in SEC reporting, you will have a key role in evaluating new business initiatives and advising senior management on technical accounting considerations and SEC disclosure matters. Additionally, you will oversee the operational and technical accounting for complex share-based compensation arrangements, including the review of monthly financial close activities, analytics, and key internal reporting. You will be a collaborative leader in building strong cross-functional partnerships with business partners across the enterprise – including Legal, FP&A, and the broader finance team.

Your Day to Day

Location: Remotely from USA

Reports to: Director, Financial Reporting & Policy

  • Lead the coordination and review of all SEC filings – including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, the annual proxy statement, and Section 16 filings
  • Create technical accounting memoranda and other documentation supported by research of accounting guidance under U.S. GAAP – including opportunities to present your research to senior leadership
  • Lead the operational and technical accounting for our complex share-based compensation program
  • Assist in the evaluation of new accounting pronouncements and development of external disclosures
  • Lead ongoing transformation initiatives to enhance established procedures, policies, and controls
  • Proactively monitor and operate a robust internal control environment for your relevant areas in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with key business leaders
  • Perform other duties and ad-hoc projects as needed.

Skills Required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar field
  • 7+ years of experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm, or a mix of public accounting and industry at a large accelerated filer
  • CPA designation required
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP (specifically ASC 718)
  • Experience with SEC rules & regulations
  • Experience with a publicly-traded company subject to Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) requirements
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and an aptitude for data analysis, automation, and process improvement
  • Strong attention to detail, planning and organization skills, agile mindset and curiosity, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 128,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 192,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
