As a Starbucks Market Research & Insights senior manager, you will inspire teams and leaders to take action and make decisions by serving as the champion of our Customers and Partners (employees). In this role, you will independently lead the execution of research on strategic initiatives, to provide actionable insights into our Customer and Partner (employee) experience. You will leverage your deep knowledge of research methods, analytics and synthesis to build compelling, persuasive cases for action. You will serve as a trusted partner/advisor and collaborate with a wide variety of teams, spanning—among others— Marketing, Operations, and Partner Resource organizations while influencing decisions at the highest levels of the company.

Leveraging Your Previous Experience, We Will Enable You To

  • Lead the execution of research and deliver insights on strategic initiatives that impact the Customer and Partner experience.
  • Innovate Starbucks research approaches to add value and incremental research capabilities to an already robust toolkit
  • Collaborate with business partners and team members to translate business questions into research designs, analytics plans and customized reports
  • Independently design, execute, analyze and report custom research projects across both Customer and Partner to test hypotheses and more deeply explore themes identified in tracking programs
  • Serve as an influencer, representing the voice of our Customers and Partners through compelling storytelling

We’d Love To Hear From People With

  • Broad Generalist background with knowledge and experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Strong knowledge and experience with tracking programs such as Brand Equity, Customer Experience, Employee Satisfaction, etc.
  • Experience independently leading end-to-end research, from scoping to planning, executing and reporting
  • The ability to see the big picture, taking strategic approaches to research plans
  • Demonstrated curiosity to explore data and understand linkages between datasets and business outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of statistics (descriptive and inferential) and their use in quantitative research methods
  • Compelling, persuasive oral and written communication skills to executive audiences
  • Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Proficiency with SPSS, Desktop Reporter, Excel or other statistical software packages
  • Business experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Market Research & Insights experience in CPG, Retail or a Market Research supplier

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
