Senior Manager, Pre-Cruise & Onboard Strategy and Performance

Position Summary

The Sr. Manager, Onboard Revenue and Pre-Cruise Strategy is a key leadership role within the International organization of the Royal Caribbean International (RCI) brand. The position is located in Royal Caribbean Group’s Miami headquarters, representing over 140 International countries that our guests are sourced from.

The leader will manage a high performing team that is accountable for spearheading and coordinating efforts to drive profitability from the International markets. This includes developing commercial strategies for on-board cruise revenue, own promotional and pricing strategies for our pre-cruise offerings, define and implement strategies to source high-value guests including from our casino channel, and own the governance of communication and reporting of the team’s efforts to key stakeholders. Key to success is the ability to combine an analytical and commercial-oriented mindset, that will deliver timely, clear, and actionable strategies that drive top line revenue. The leader will collaborate directly with leadership from Sales, Marketing, Casino, On-Board Revenue, Revenue Management, the Managing Directors of our International markets.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and coach a high performing team of various tenure and technical skills.
  • Spearhead the development and execution of on-board revenue generating strategies in partnership with the On-Board revenue team.
  • Drive pre-cruise purchase performance through the strategic relationship with Marketing and Sales.
  • Drive decisions and deliver results through effective communication skills, process expertise, and project management.
  • Change agent accountable for evolving International’s best practices from within the Miami headquarters.
  • Collaborate with the Casino team create and implement a partnership strategy to source guests from that channel.
  • Own the planning of volume and rate performance of on-board spend for all International markets.
  • Champion a data-driven culture.
  • Written and verbal communication of strategic plans to executive management, as well as tactical plans and decisions in reaction to changing market conditions.
  • Oversee and manage the measurement and evaluation of strategies.
  • Identifies revenue generating gaps, determines the revenue opportunities through technology enhancements, and leads the business in the change.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) with a degree focus in Business, Finance, Economics or other quantitative discipline preferred.
  • Masters Degree highly preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience and/or training in analytics or quantitative discipline required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years in a role or project that developed, led and/or recommended a strategic framework or strategy for a brand or profit center. Longer tenure with this type of experience would be a plus.
  • Experience in Revenue Management and Demand Forecasting.
  • Data Research modeling skills a plus. Competency in PowerBI, SQL/Alterxy
